A WINTER'S DAY
Over the years I have taken plenty of photographs but sometimes even if I get a great image, I wish I could alter it to do what i wish.
Hence my love of modern digital technology.
Here I took two old 35mm slides and composited them to create a more punchy image of the girl. I didn't like the original background.
I had taken the slide shot of the mid morning sun a few days after the picture of the girl on a winter's day on the same batch of 35mm slide film.
Because I had some shots of people in the slides of the sun, I knew roughly what was needed. Once the girl was cut out of the background it was simply a matter of matching colour, lighting and tone to the sun.
Despite the simplicity of the shot it was complicated to do especially getting the hair right.
Like all my shots this is a high resolution 16 bit image capable of being printed at A0 or in digital terms easily 16k.
